Description
World renowned Cantor Paul Zim sings "Uv'nei O'soh" from "V'LiYerushalayim Ircho" (composed by Cantor Moshe Koussevitzky z"l) with symphonic orchestra in 1993 in Warsaw, Poland's Nodzyk Shul. Paul was in Warsaw at the time to help dedicate a special monument at the Jewish cemetery of Warsaw, to commemorate the memory of the hundreds of Jewish children who perished in the Warsaw Ghetto and The Holocaust. This selection and rendition was broadcast throughout Europe and viewed by millions of people. It's interesting to note that Cantor Moshe Koussevitzky, before coming to America in 1948, served as the cantor of Warsaw's largest synagogue (The Tlamatzke Shul) before it was burnt to the ground by the Nazis. Upon Cantor Moshe Koussevitzky's untimely death, it was Cantor Paul Zim's privilege to succeed him at Congregation Beth-El of Borough Park in Brooklyn, New York, a position that Paul held for two years.
