I’ve always enjoyed listening to music with my kids, but as they’ve gotten older, I’ve come to enjoy it even more. Back in the day, it was mostly me choosing songs for them, trying to expose them to a wide variety of stuff that I find important. Lately, however, the tables have turned. They introduce me to music that is important to them and it’s often stuff I wouldn’t hear otherwise. Of course, our tastes don’t always align, but the process is fascinating and insightful. Every once in a while, I even hear something that resonates with me and inspires me to get out of my comfort zone.
