A fragment from Polina Shepherd's performance for "YAHRZEIT 70: WORDS – MUSIC – FILM, an event by Five Leaves Bookshop and the Jewish Music Institute on 29 August 2022. This was a commemoration of thirteen members of the Soviet Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee were murdered on the orders of Stalin on August 12th 1952.
"A fresh wind came to the hot streets from the fields and I went out of my dark house to meet it. It kissed and embraced me gently told me without a word: the rye is already blooming in the fields."
