Following a stint of releases including title track “Body Mover” and “Cus It Feels Right”, Fez The Kid today [Friday 11th July] unleashes his brand-new jungle-infused EP Body Mover via Up Ya Archives Records.

The 5-track EP showcases Fez’s distinctive style, a fusion of jungle rhythms and UK-centric energy that feels both nostalgic and progressive. His approach to production is rooted in a deep respect for jungle’s heritage driven by a fully hardware-based setup including an Atari 1040ST for MIDI sequencing, an Akai S950 and a Spirit Folio mixer. With no in-box effects, every sound is manually processed and externally routed, creating a skillful hands-on approach that connects him to his predecessors of the early ‘90s, of whom he draws a lot of his inspiration and passion from. “I find such an enormous part of my creative inspiration emerges from the idea that I’m working in the same fashion to producers in the 90s.” Fez explains. “This is what I aim to achieve with my production - to create sounds that resonate so closely with old school tunes, but do not shy away from modern methods. By combining them with modded equipment and digital recording methods, my production becomes more efficient, and more nuanced by enabling myself access to an enormous set of possible options.”

A dance-floor ready, feel good, catchy body of work that is equally as technical, innovative and refined, Body Mover is an intentional statement, showcasing Fez’s ability to merge past and future into something so uniquely his own. Effortlessly blending influences from Garage, Dubstep, Soul, and Ragga, Fez creates euphoric moments throughout his EP with the use of intimate soulful sounds and emotional synths that collide blissfully with energetic jungle beats and drops. “My Body mover EP showcases a combination of old school-centred styles that I’ve been developing over the past year. I strived to combine new production techniques with oldschool methods and sounds to curate both a catchy and emotive collection of works. All five tracks offer individual purpose, with the title track body mover finding foundation in a ragga hook and groovy bass line that I wanted to not only be club-ready, but also the sort of song that can get you up and dancing even at home”
