The title of the first movement, "Preludio - Fantasia", is itself open to interpretation by the audience. Fantasia. Natali Neykova decides to use this particular part and present her fantasy of life - reality versus thoughts.
Most of the young artist's days are long, difficult, full of commitments and filled with travel. Natalie shows that travel itself plays a big part in her life. Most of the time she looks out the train window, enjoying the landscape and capturing it for a long time. Another part of the journey for her is the exhaustion combined with dreams of her favourite locations around the world.
In the video of the first part of the suite, Natali inhabits the role of the main character - namely herself.
"The strangest encounter is the one with ourselves"
The team chose this immense challenge so Natali could jump into her own world, discover it and show it to others. The biggest difficulty was to challenge a young musician and his capabilities, and in this case, besides musical, also theatrical.
In the audio recording, the parallel between reality and dreams is again presented. It begins with an urbane, city atmosphere filled with noises, ambulances and sounds of passers-by. Slowly it transitions into an atmosphere of a secret garden. It is actually a transition to the deep inner world. The video expresses the idea of this parallel again and again: the brutal reality, the fast days, the journey and the thoughts of the protagonist as she travels. The frame of this piece is Natali - travelling on the train and dreamily looking out the window.
These are her subconscious emotions: disappointments, happiness, surprises, states of stress and harmony, fears, dreams and love.
In the video, we show three different seasons - autumn, winter and spring - which are actually the times when Natali had the opportunity to shoot some of the urban footage alone, and the cinematic scenes together with the Studio Karkelanov team. Of course, there is a conscious thought behind it all. Words are NOT strong enough to express what is meant, but that's why we decided to express it in the video, provoking the viewer's thoughts.
In the video we see an endless journey, moving on to new lands, entering different places. Along with emotions, I express the "search" in life - we are always looking for something - new opportunities, new paths, and new directions. Often some of us make wrong decisions that lead us into darkness. The catalyst for the search theme is in Lorca's poem:
"La rose ne cherchait pas l'aurore :
presque éternelle sur sa branche,
elle cherchait autre chose.
La rose ne cherchait ni science ni ombre :
à la frontière de la chair et du rêve
elle cherchait autre chose.
La rose ne cherchait pas la rose.
Immobile dans le ciel
elle cherchait autre chose."
Constantly searching for something, but never sure what it is.
"If I eventually find what I'm looking for, what is it?"
