Hannah Grace and Gabrielle Aplin have been singing together since they were 17, having met through mutual friends in music and bonding over a shared love of Joni Mitchell and Carole King. Gabrielle first invited Hannah to support her on tour in 2013, and the two have remained close ever since — navigating life as artists in the music industry together for over a decade. In that time, they’ve toured, written songs, and championed each other’s music at every turn. Their 2018 collaborative Christmas EP December has become a festive favourite among fans, amassing over 20 million streams — with many calling for more collaborations ever since.

From Hannah: “This song is about how so many of us have become desensitised to what’s happening in the world right now. Sometimes I feel like I should be crying every day — yet we’ve grown used to the endless heartbreaking headlines.

I always share new music with Gabrielle and have found her friendship and artistic insight invaluable while working towards this second album. She loved this song so much that I asked if she’d like to sing on it with me. The moment I heard her voice on the track for the first time, it felt like the song had found its true form — like it was always meant to be the two of us. I can’t wait for the world to hear it.”
