Im OSTen galt der 1952 in Greifswald geborene Pianist, Sänger, Komponist und Arrangeur als "genialer Ausnahmekünstler". Schon in frühester Kindheit erlernte er autodidaktisch das Klavierspielen und Komponieren.

Groß ist der Reichtum der Welt - heute noch.
Und unsere Erde bleibt unser Stern.
Wenn auch die Menschheit heute schon nach andern Sternen greift,
Bleibt die Erde der eine Stern, wo alles wächst und reift.

Gibt es den Reichtum der Welt - morgen noch?
Oder ist vieles davon schon hin?
Die Luft, die uns erst leben läßt, hüllt den Erdball ein.
Soll für alle die nach uns kommen, sie schon vergiftet sein?

Gibt es den Reichtum der Welt - morgen noch?
Oder ist vieles davon schon hin?
Das Land und auch die Ozeane können sich nicht wehr'n.
Ihre Schätze soll'n Späteren auch so wie uns gehörn.

Gehört der Reichtum der Welt - allen schon?
Oder bleibt vielen nicht viel versagt?

In the GDR, the pianist, singer, composer and arranger, born in Greifswald in 1952, was regarded as a "brilliant exceptional artist". From an early age, he learned to play the piano and compose autodidactically.

Great is the wealth of the world - even today.
And our earth remains our star.
Even if humanity is already reaching for other stars today,
Earth remains the one star where everything grows and matures.

Will the wealth of the world still exist tomorrow?
Or is much of it already gone?
The air that lets us live envelops the globe.
Should it already be poisoned for all those who come after us?

Will the wealth of the world still exist tomorrow?

The land and the oceans cannot defend themselves.
Their treasures shall belong to those who come after, just as they belong to us.

Does the wealth of the world - already belong to all?
Or will many not be denied much?
