We were extremely lucky to be able to record in one of Edinburgh’s old historic vaults. The huge echos were so much fun to sing with (despite noises from pipes and dripping water). A big thanks to our friends at The Royal Oak for making it happen. (We love you ❤️)

‘I Will Lay Ye Doon, Love’ is one of the many folk songs that has evolved with oral tradition and has numerous cousin songs. It was collected by Hamish Henderson from the great ballad singer Jeannie Robertson in 1954, who learned it from her mother. We also love The Exiles version.
