Some new music from the simply sublime Joan Osborne; for me the most versatile of all female singers this generation. Incredibly it has been 25 years since her breakthrough smash 'One Of Us', but Ms Osborne has continued to record and tour and has created magical music this quarter of a century! Moving through virtually every genre possible, Joan's voice and sensibilities have produced albums with a feel for country, for pop; for rock, for traditional R&B and for folk and blues. Albums of original compositions (as is the case with this song from her new album 'Trouble & Strife') are matched with cover albums ('Songs of Bob Dylan' her most recently released). 'Take It Any Way That I Can Get It' harks back to the style from her 'Relish' LP that produced her Grammy nominated hit. Joan has taken excellent care of that wondrous voice: when she hits those high notes or the soaring bridge; it is simply breathtaking. Listening to Joan Osborne for me is akin to spending time with a friend that I have made in my adulthood. I was 31 when I first discovered her music, and her many recordings have been accompaniments for me on life's journeys since then - through the highs and lows - and I've had both!
