Comments from Carrie: It is hard for most human beings to "be" with the process. We are in a quick fix culture when we are encouraged to lose that weight in 10 days, recover from grief in a month, watch a YouTube video and immediately know how to execute a skill. But some things can only happen with time and compassion. It takes time to learn a new way of responding, to live through the uncomfortable feelings of making a mistake and what we learn from that mistake, to let go when that means to forgive what we will never forget, It takes time to incorporate and integrate an unfolding spiritual practice. This is a song about learning how to live with a sense of kindness and of compassion, learning to rest my hand on my heart and know that I am right where I need to be.
