It may appear that a personal bias exists toward Columbia's hits with respect to hits compilations, and rightly so. Collections of artists' hits seem to always offer the LP versions of songs, rather than the hit single versions, and for that I fault CBS Records and Sony Music. What made the songs hits in the first place were the singles, and people would go out and buy the "Greatest Hits|" albums, 8-tracks, cassettes and eventually CDs to get the songs the way they heard them on the radio, but with Columbia, that just wasn't to be. This should have been on the album "Best of Friends," but instead, Columbia provided the album version. This was dubbed from a mint, previously un-played single acquired with a ton of NOS singles I got from a record store that folded.
