Description

This zhongruan version was written by Wang Huiran 王惠然 and is from the zhongruan grade exam book I have. The original version was written by He Jingzhi with music accompaniment by Ma Ke. During the Japanese invasion of China (1940s), Nanniwan, in Shaanxi province, was used by the Communists as a crop production zone to support agricultural self-sustenance. With the help of a military brigade the effort was a success and 'Nanniwan' became a Communist revolutionary song. It was adapted from a folk melody from northern Shaanxi.

The song's lyrics translate to picturesque descriptions of Nanniwan, emotions of hope and sentiments of nationalism. Currently, there exists many versions of the song including upbeat vocal ballads and solo instrument performances.

南泥湾: 花篮的花儿香，听我来唱一唱，唱一呀唱。
来到了南泥湾，南泥湾好地方，好地呀方。
好地方来好风光，好风光来好地方，到处是庄稼，遍地是牛羊。

往年的南泥湾，处处是荒山，没呀人烟。
如今的南泥湾，与往年不一般，不一呀般。
如呀今的南泥湾，与呀往年不一般，再不是旧模样，是陕北的好江南。

陕北的好江南，鲜花开满山，开满呀山。
学习那南泥湾，处处是江南，是江南。
