A big Take the Doughnut Challenge for me: Choreograph a routine for each month of 2025. This one is scary for me. I can think of a dozen reasons not to post this challenge publicly - and I think of more each day - but I decided to break through those reasons and see what is on the other side.

The featured song is Old Hag You Have Killed Me by The Bothy Band. When I was little, my dad made a mix tape for me of my favorite songs in his collection of albums. There were two songs on the tape from The Bothy Band: this one and a song called Fionnghuala. Fionnghuala would have been the easy way out for me. It is a short, haunting, beautiful, slow song that fits right into my wheelhouse of movement. So...I picked the Irish jig instead. The title of this song always cracked me up, and the song always made me want to dance. Here's the thing: I've never done any Irish dancing. You might argue I'm still not doing any here. This dance is loosely inspired by Irish step dance and ballet with the full knowledge that I nurse way too many old injuries to try to jump and hop for the full choreography. But I'm pretty proud to have Old Hag You Have Killed Me in this line up and the little girl in me would be very excited about this dance!
