“Fresh Gold Bloom-Age” forms part of an AA side to be released on November 5, 2021, backed with the group's latest drop “Beaut-I-Full World (feat. Zima and Kalala)".

Taking sonic cues from the jazz infused boom-bap era before him, Skomes blends a laid back drum loop with chilled chords, featuring Melbourne’s Diego Villalta on guitar, who as Skomes says, is “flavourful as always.” Delivering introspective, down to earth lyricism, fused with intricate production, Cazeaux’s elevated cadence flourishes within the mellow atmosphere of the SO.Crates world, as they carry the spirit of the golden age of hip hop into the future. The “Fresh Gold Bloom-Age'' visual follows Cazeaux on a comic-like adventure. Shown literally carrying the weight of the world with him, it is an apt reminder to connect with different aspects of the world.

Cazeaux says of the track, “When I heard this beat for the first time I saw colours in my head. There was cadillac honey beige, blaxploitation gold, seafoam blue-green, Uluru red. Writing it out was a natural process of riding the waves of colours up the coast. It turned out to be a very ‘SO. Crates’ record. If I step outside of myself and just look at what I love about our group from my fandom perspective, all the pure elements are in there.”

SO.Crates is the collective mind of both Melbourne based producer and DJ Skomes, and California-via-Adelaide MC and poet Cazeaux O.S.L.O, formed after meeting at Mellow Dias Thump, an event organised in the heart of Melbourne city by O.S.L.O. himself. The duo have since extensively performed their smooth flows and warm grooves alongside the likes of of Stones Throw Records, Bradley Zero, Black Milk, 30/70, Mndsgn, as well as hit the stages of Strawberry Fields three years in a row, FLOW Festival, and WOMAD.
