Despite being armed to the teeth with muskets and daggers, these men are not going to war. Instead, they are fighting for something else; the preservation of these two traditional war dances from the Missour region in eastern Morocco. Consisting of dancers on one side and musicians on the other, the group performs the Tagouria and Mangouch. These dances used to be performed to celebrate victory over rival tribes. But today the dances serve a more peaceful cause: the celebration of the Moroccan cultural heritage in all its allure and variety.
